MODERATE BIKING PLUS RAFTING, JET BOAT, DUNE JUMPING      30 DAYS
Trip #ORCA

Biking along the Pacific Ocean is spectacular and this multi-sport trip is packed with athletic adventure. Begin your trip on the spectacular Oregon coast, exploring the famous Sea Lion Caves. Bike paths straddling the Willamette River offer an unspoiled backdrop for cycling. Later, you bike to Sunset Bay State Park where you can catch your crab dinner to barbeque on the beach under a magnificent sunset.

Experience the thrill of dune jumping (photos really impress your friends!) and an exciting jet boat ride on the beautiful Rogue River. In California, you cycle through enormous Redwood trees and hike to a Star Wars filming location! On the Klamath River, big raft or inflatable kayak rides are followed by hiking and swimming in waterfall pools.

Your West Coast Adventure is topped off by two days in San Francisco and you'll marvel at the Golden Gate Bridge as you cycle across it! Shop at the open air markets at Fisherman's Wharf, take the ferry to Alcatraz, walk up (or down) steep, steep Lombard Street, ride the cable cars, shop and eat (delicious chocolate bars from Ghirardelli, Chinatown's restaurants, and great Mexican munchies)!

“My husband and I are very grateful for all you did to set up such a wonderful experience for our daughter... You seem to know how to put all the right ingredients together for kids and leaders to then make something great happen. Virginia’s trip, rigorous, elemental, and all outdoors, was a powerful experience for her, both physically and emotionally. Your notion of sending complete strangers off to bicycle long distances together, through good times and bad, with not much to rely on but themselves, is a brilliant one. As a parent, I loved the way this wonderful theory is backed up by such meticulous organization, with a daunting amount of information slowly unfolding over the months preceeding the trip, so as not to overwhelm people like me!

I must admit I had a few moments of doubt before the trip started, but Virginia never did. From the time she pointed to CRC-1 in your catalog in January, she was sold on it and regaled us with stories upon her return. The leaders did a wonderful job of pulling the kids together, and I’ll bet it wasn’t always easy!

Anyway, thanks so much to everyone there. We look forward to more trips by Virginia and her younger sisters as well. I’d be glad to be a reference for other families.”
